RRD Kiteboarding

The 2005 RRD model year product line-up is a collaborative effort between Simone Vannucci, Martin Vari, Michael Fernandez, and David Tyburski. This group has been working non-stop to lift the performance and quality of the RRD kiteboarding line to the top of the market. Simone, Martin, and David spent countless hours testing new kites on Kauai, Oahu, The Gorge, and in Italy. The first result of this effort is the new Type Six kite. New kites for 2005 from RRD include the high-performance ZH kite designed for boosting and rangy pull and the specialty Type Wave designed for working it in the surf. A new, patented 5th line bar system for wave riding will move surfing with kites to the next level. The international team worked hard to improve on the 2004 RRD kiteboard line. New models out are the Triplex XXX, The Martin Model, and the Wave-off.

The RRD team world-wide has been turning heads and pushing the sport forward at every level. Riders like Martin Vari, David Tyburski, and Michael Fernandez are doing great on the PKRA and KPWT tours. Fernandez is the world champion of the KPWT and Martin Vari is in the top three on the PKRA with a victory in Fuerte Ventura. National level riders Denver Coon, Jeff Kafka, and Bri Chmel have all been on the podium or in the finals at events like the Gorge Games where Bri took double-gold in the freestyle and the kiter-cross. Skim-kiters Joey Pasquali and Brian Lake are using RRD kites and Cabal skimboards to re-define strapless riding.

2005 looks to be a breakout year for RRD.
